I obviously do dentistry so I can help my patients and I got interested when I was in college at UNC Chapel Hill. I had a residential advisor that was going through the dental school program there and he talked to me and my roommate about it. Prior to that, I wanted to do veterinary medicine but he really just got me interested into dentistry so I joined a lot of the local dental groups there.
I shadowed several dentists in the Chapel Hill area, joined the Student Dental Society and it just stuck. I loved it so here I am but the goal is to help patients. You know your smile is your first impression so helping patients just achieve nice healthy smile.
I have been doing this graduate dental school 2007 right after dental school started at a practice where I’m from in Cary, North Carolina so since 2008. I think the most rewarding is not even so much the dentistry. Obviously it’s nice you know when patients you get them out of pain you’re able to change their smile but just the camaraderie you build with patients building their trust the rapport with patients because going to the dentist obviously is not the most favorite thing for patients to do so it’s nice when patients tell you you made them feel safe comfortable and then of course the cherry on top is improving their smile and their confidence.
